Mission Document Verification

You read how I wrote my exams, got anxious about results, got my results and all right!! Results were in hand and all I had to do was get my documents ready for the verification round. To UG students, it was all done online. But as we had more number of documents to be submitted, we had to go through the office verification. We were given just 2–3 days for collecting the documents after the results. Yes! I should have got all my documents ready by that time, but you know how lazy we can be and light we can take any matter. What I did is that, I got most of my study certificates on Friday and on same night they released the notification addressing they would start the verification from Sunday. I had not got BEO’s signature for my 10th study certificate. But this Saturday was a second Saturday and without this one signature, whole documents and seat would be cancelled. I went numb on Friday night. I had no clue what to do, how to get the signature, where to find the BEO or anything. I started panicking. That was when my Amma jumped into picture. She has a lot of contacts in our home town. She made few calls asking for BEO’s contact and finally she got the contacts and spoke to Jnanesh Sir, BEO. To my luck and god’s grace, he was attending some function near by. So it was almost set.All I had to do was wait for next day.

The next day was an adventure to me. I started early in the morning. First I collected my 10th study certificate, then went to that function, waited for BEO, heard him say ‘This generation students are all last minute workers’ got his sign and also his seal (he had personally asked his driver to get it). I learnt that plan and work for on prior, no matter what!! I’ll forever be indebted for what Jnanesh sir did that day. Then went to college, do all other necessities and came back, satisfied that everything was set and prepared well enough. In the afternoon, when Anu and I sat to sort all the documents for the next day, she found that that Provisional Degree Certificate was missing. I had thought it was the 6th semester marks card but unfortunately it was not. Provisional Degree Certificate (issued by the University) or Course Completion Certificate (issued by the College) was acceptable but I had none. I didn’t know what to do. Anu wanted to scold me but seeing me panicking she kept quite, asked me to call the lecturers and do the necessities.

I made few calls and when I found nothing can be done, one of my lecturer told, ‘ Don’t panicky, just explain them the reason’. So I was all set for next day, took my Ammamma’s blessings and went to the centre with Amma. On the way I noticed that I had got my sister’s phone and went back to get mine. So somehow I reached the college and found that 1st set of students(1st rank — 500th rank) were not done with their documentation due to the website issue. Without an option I had to wait for 3 hours and a bit a more in queue with the fear of getting rejected without my Course Completion Certificate or the Provisional Degree Certificate.

It was around 5 o’clock when I went into the room to get my documents verified, I waited patiently for my turns. Submitted all the documents, carefully enough to not lie anything there ( you may call it tweeting the truth though) and came out with the Secret Key they after the successful documents verification. I was surprised how they had not asked me for that one majorly important document. But once I came back, I made sure that I went to my college on Monday and got my Course Completion Certificate without fail. Due to the pandemic, everyone were aware the short time gap provided and the situation due to which they let us have our seats without any much of issues.

No matter how prepared you’re sometimes you just end up missing one major thing in your work, so we have to make sure we are well prepared and crossed checked. I never suggest anyone to take up this risk because there is a high chance of loosing the seats apart from scoring such a good rank though I had no choice but to take up this risk.

After this mission document verification, I had to wait for a short period of time for my college allotment procedures which were conducted online. My whole journey through this PGCET procedure is nothing less than a roller coaster ride, where in which my family stood as my seat belt. I usually don’t say a thank you, but I surely love them from the core of my heart!!

Cheerios!!

Until next time !!
